This article describes the enhancements and changes to Mondial which have been included in the January 2023 release (deployed to customers on 01-21-2023).
List of Key Enhancements/Changes
Report Writer
Define Budgets at Column Layout level
When reporting, a user may often wish to include multiple versions of a budget in the same report for comparative purposes, or may wish to include an updated short-term forecast in some columns, but long-term budget data further out.
In 2022 the Mondial budget data capture capability was extended to allow a customer to store multiple budgets and associate versions (iterations) to that budget.
This feature has now been rolled into the definition of a report writer column layout. Columns can now be associated with specific budgets and iterations (whenever a user sets a Column Type type as a Budget Amount). This allows the user to override any budget association at the report-level, with the more explicit version at the column level.
Option for Alternate value (including dash (-) ) instead of Infinity or NaN
There is a possibility, when using a ‘divide' calculation in a report writer report, that a value could be returned as either “Infinity” or “NaN”. This is similar to MS Excel's #Div/0! declaration in the same scenario.
In column layouts users can now specify what character/value should replace a calculated Infinity/Nan result. For example they may decide to use a dash ( - ) or perhaps a zero (0).
Indent capability - report writer format codes
A report row description “indent” feature has been introduced to provide for the situation where one description on a particular row may be slightly indented in relation to a description on another row. In the example below, rows 2 and 3 are, indented in relation to 1 and 4.
This requirement has been accommodated by expanding the format codes functionality. Users can now enter the number of blank characters that should be inserted to the left of a description
Journal Entry
Journal Entry support for Account Selection by Alternate Accounts as well as Local Accounts
Journal Entry screens have been modified to show the Alternate Account number within the select lists for choosing accounts when creating journal entry lines. This allows the user to choose the appropriate Local Account when making, say, statutory entries.
In order to support auditing, the alternate account is also shown on the transaction detail listing.
Templated Reports
The Progressive Trial Balance now supports Alternate Accounts
Users now have the option to choose alternate accounts at report run time. If selected, the report displays balances at the top-level of the chosen Alternate Account Set and supports drill-down through all of the account set’s tiers (if any).
Miscellaneous Fixes
- A number of minor display and control issues identified in the report writer, report overlay have been remedied.
- An issue with the report writer, column layout, "negative in red" feature has been resolved
